Past-President Nancy Hill-Davis has more than 25 years of health care human resources experience and currently serves as the Vice President of Human Resources at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As a member of the Executive Team and adviser to the CEO and Board of Directors, she provides leadership in developing and executing human resources strategy in the areas of talent acquisition, talent management, talent development, labor resource management, change management, compensation, benefits and employee health/wellness for nearly 3,000 employees. Previously, Nancy served as the Chief Human Resources and Risk Management Officer at Mercy Hospital & Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, Regional Director of Human Resources at Vencor in Alpharetta, Georgia, and Chief Human Resources Officer at Greater Southeast Healthcare System in Washington, DC. Nancy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University, a Master of Health Services Administration degree from The George Washington University and a Master of Jurisprudence degree in Health Law from Loyola University. She holds three human resources certifications: Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and Certified in Healthcare Human Resources (CHHR). Nancy’s currently serves as a member of the Four Oaks Family and Children’s Services Board of Directors, a member of the United Way Women United Invest Committee, a member of the Human Resources Certification Institute’s Certification Council, an Exam Developer for the Human Resources Certification Institute and a Big Sister for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids and East Central Iowa.
Interim Treasurer Heidi Hromidko is the Director of Human Resources at CCR. Heidi forms strategic alliances with senior leaders to understand and articulate business needs and translate them into people strategies. She is helping accelerate CCR’s growth through transforming leadership, attracting and developing the best talent and building a culture of engagement, agility and innovation. Having worked the majority of her career in the technology industry, Heidi enjoys a fast-paced environment and truly loves creating workplaces and employee experiences that teams can thrive in and ultimately deliver business results. Heidi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Human Resource Management from Mt. Mercy University and an MBA from University of Dubuque.
Secretary Valerie Burns is currently the Human Resource Manager at Iowa Fluid Power in Cedar Rapids. Valerie worked with software training and implementation while finishing her Human Resource Management degree at Upper Iowa University. Since graduation, she has spent the last fourteen years at IFP, and has served on the EIHRA board for the past three, as the Certification Chair. Val is also active in fitness and bicycling, as well as keeping busy with her high school daughter’s volleyball and church activities. Val is looking forward to the new year with EIHRA and also will be serving on the State SHRM Board as the Foundation Director.
PR/Networking Chair Sue Wilberr is currently the Human Resources Director at Clear Creek Amana School District. Upon graduation from Wartburg College, she began her career began as a federal bank examiner with FDIC. She quickly learned that people rather than numbers was her passion and has been in human resources ever since, both in private and public sector. She received her MBA from the University of Dubuque, and is always on the lookout for opportunities to learn and grow. She has been an EIHRA board member for 10 years, serving in a variety of roles and is looking forward to collaborating with the 2019 board to plan a great year for the members. Sue lives in Center Point and stays busy with 3 active kids; 10 year old twin girls and a 15 year old son.
Programs Kate Pine has been a member of EIHRA for the past 3 years. She served as the Workforce Readiness Chair in 2018 and will continue to do so in 2019. Kate brings a wealth of information from her position at Iowa Workforce Development where she has had a variety of positions for the past 10 years and is currently the Iowa City Cedar Rapids Workforce Region Business Marketing Specialist. Kate graduated from Central College with a degree in Philosophy and then served as a US Navy Hospital Corpsman. Upon her return to Iowa, Kate earned a Micro-Computer Specialist Diploma from Indian Hills Community College and a Masters of Science in Adult Learning from Drake University. Kate also completed Drake’s Don V Adams Leadership academy and earned the coveted “pen” award for completing the Dale Carnegie Course. In her free time, Kate volunteers at the Monarch Zone Project and is a butterfly census taker for ISU’s Reiman Gardens program.
Diversity Chair Anthony Arrington is from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Washington High School, and received his BA in Communication Studies from The University of Iowa. Anthony started his staffing industry career as a Recruiter and Onsite Account Manager for Kelly Services. After several years working in higher education fundraising, Anthony reentered the staffing industry, helping start a local staffing agency in 2006, and then working in talent acquisition for Rockwell Collins. Currently, Anthony is a Managing Partner at Top RANK, a search firm focused on helping companies acquire top professional, management, and executive level talent, with a special emphasis on diverse and inclusive leadership. Anthony lives in Cedar Rapids with his wife and their dog. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, helping manage his oldest daughter’s modeling career, sports, and is a huge hip hop music fan.
