Heidi Hromidko is the Director of Human Resources at CCR. Heidi forms strategic alliances with senior leaders to understand and articulate business needs and translate them into people strategies. She is helping accelerate CCR’s growth through transforming leadership, attracting and developing the best talent and building a culture of engagement, agility and innovation.
Having worked the majority of her career in the technology industry, Heidi enjoys a fast-paced environment and truly loves creating workplaces and employee experiences that teams can thrive in and ultimately deliver business results.
Heidi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Human Resource Management from Mt. Mercy University and an MBA from University of Dubuque.
Nancy Hill-Davis has more than 25 years of health care human resources experience and currently serves as the Vice President of Human Resources at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As a member of the Executive Team and advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors, she provides leadership in developing and executing human resources strategy in the areas of talent acquisition, talent management, talent development, labor resource management, change management, compensation, benefits and employee health/wellness for nearly 3,000 employees. Previously, Nancy served as the Chief Human Resources and Risk Management Officer at Mercy Hospital & Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, Regional Director of Human Resources at Vencor in Alpharetta, Georgia, and Chief Human Resources Officer at Greater Southeast Healthcare System in Washington, DC.
Nancy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University, a Master of Health Services Administration degree from The George Washington University and a Master of Jurisprudence degree in Health Law from Loyola University. She holds three human resources certifications: Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and Certified in Healthcare Human Resources (CHHR).
Nancy’s currently serves as a member of the Four Oaks Family and Children’s Services Board of Directors, a member of the United Way Women United Invest Committee, a member of the Human Resources Certification Institute’s Certification Council, an Exam Developer for the Human Resources Certification Institute and a Big Sister for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids and East Central Iowa.
Dawn Sparling has 11 years Human Resources experience in Employee Relations and currently Global Mobility (International HR) as a Senior Global Mobility Specialist at Collins Aerospace, a United Technologies Company, formerly Rockwell Collins. Dawn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa in Communication Studies and Anthropology and a Master of Science degree from Loyola University Chicago in Human Resources and Industrial Relations.
Dawn’s volunteer background includes; Hospice, National Member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority Leadership Development and Selection committees, Board Member on Kennedy High School Foundation of Performing Arts and Costume Committee for Kennedy High School Happiness Show Choir. Dawn is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management where she is a Certified Professional and an active member of Eastern Iowa Human Resource Association, where she has served as Treasurer in 2013-2014 and again most recently in that office.
Dawn’s passion is building relationships and using her interpersonal and organizational skills to bring value to an organization.
Dawn grew up in the Quad Cities, but has lived in Cedar Rapids and Hiawatha for the last 23 years. She has two children; a son who is 20 and a sophomore at Coe College and a daughter who is 18 and a senior at Kennedy High School. Dawn enjoys knitting, walking (and some running), scrapbooking, going to farmer’s markets, antiquing and hanging out with family and friends.
2019 EIHRA Committee Chairs
Valerie Burns is currently the Human Resource Manager at Iowa Fluid Power in Cedar Rapids. Valerie worked with software training and implementation while finishing her Human Resource Management degree at Upper Iowa University. Since graduation, she has spent the last fourteen years at IFP, and has served on the EIHRA board for the past three, as the Certification Chair. Val is also active in fitness and bicycling, as well as keeping busy with her high school daughter’s volleyball and church activities. Val is looking forward to the new year with EIHRA and also will be serving on the State SHRM Board as the Foundation Director.
Erin Brown has been a Human Resources professional for over 10 years with experience in Employee Relations, Benefit Management, Training and Development and Compliance. Erin is a Human Resources Client Consultant with Skywalk Group in Cedar Rapids and works with businesses in all different industries. She holds two certifications demonstrating her knowledge in Human Resources; her PHR (Professional in Human Resources) through HRCI (Human Resources Certification Institute), and the SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional) through SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management).
Erin is also an active member of the Junior League of Cedar Rapids where she can contribute towards the professional development of other members through her placement on the Training and Development committee and help Junior League make a difference in the community within which we work and live. She is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and is a member of the Eastern Iowa Human Resources Association.
Erin grew up in Lisbon, Iowa and has lived in the Cedar Rapids area all of her life. She currently resides in Marion, Iowa with her husband and their five-year-old daughter. Erin is a self-proclaimed geek, who loves Star Wars and the Marvel Universe, she enjoys reading graphic novels, watching action movies, baking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Sue Wilber is currently the Human Resources Director at Clear Creek Amana School District. Upon graduation from Wartburg College, she began her career began as a federal bank examiner with FDIC. She quickly learned that people rather than numbers was her passion and has been in human resources ever since, both in private and public sector. She received her MBA from the University of Dubuque, and is always on the lookout for opportunities to learn and grow. She has been an EIHRA board member for 10 years, serving in a variety of roles and is looking forward to collaborating with the 2019 board to plan a great year for the members. Sue lives in Center Point and stays busy with 3 active kids; 10 year old twin girls and a 15 year old son.
Christina Herndon is a Human Resource Generalist at Moxie Solar with more than 6 years of experience in the HR field. Previous experience includes Employee Benefit Administration at Autoliv and GKN North America Services. Christina has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Development and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Oakland University.
Christina is passionate about aligning the needs of the people and the business of an organization, to empower employees to do their best work, so that the business can thrive and support its population. Christina is from Michigan and lived in the Metro-Detroit area until moving to Iowa City in July of 2018. Prior to making the career move into the HR field, she worked as a Dog Groomer for 5 years. Christina enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies include reading, baking, hiking, camping, and going for leisurely bike rides.

Kate Pine has been a member of EIHRA for the past 3 years. She served as the Workforce Readiness Chair in 2018 and will continue to do so in 2019. Kate brings a wealth of information from her position at Iowa Workforce Development where she has had a variety of positions for the past 10 years and is currently the Iowa City Cedar Rapids Workforce Region Business Marketing Specialist. Kate graduated from Central College with a degree in Philosophy and then served as a US Navy Hospital Corpsman. Upon her return to Iowa, Kate earned a Micro-Computer Specialist Diploma from Indian Hills Community College and a Masters of Science in Adult Learning from Drake University. Kate also completed Drake’s Don V Adams Leadership academy and earned the coveted “pen” award for completing the Dale Carnegie Course. In her free time, Kate volunteers at the Monarch Zone Project and is a butterfly census taker for ISU’s Reiman Gardens program.
