Clear Creek Amana School District is looking for a Human Resource Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:  Guides and manages the school districts programs and policies as they apply to employee relations, compensation, benefits, safety, performance and staffing levels.

EDUCATION:  BA degree in business or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:  3-5 years in similar position

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate board policy review procedures and ensure that the policy manual and policies are posted on the website are up to date.

  • Assist administration in recruiting and screening applicants for employment.  Advertise vacancies on Teach Iowa and local papers.  Collect all necessary employment applications/papers for new hires.

  • Prepare employee contracts and letters of agreement for new employees.  Maintain contract book.  Ensure all employee contracts and letters of agreement are signed.  Follow up on any contracts that are not returned or signed.  Enter contracts into computer.

  • Update personnel information in Software Unlimited, powerschool and on the website.  Create identification badge and email account.  Contact the technology director for access to voicemail.

  • Develop and update new employee orientation handbooks and materials.  Conduct new employee orientation in the fall of each year and during the school year as needed.

  • Coordinate and track certified staff lane changes, classified pay incentives, professional licenses, evaluations, and mandatory trainings.

  • Maintain all employee payroll and personnel files. Maintain schedule of preservation of documents and reports and disposes of files as necessary.

  • Coordinate health insurance plans and educate/enroll employees as needed.  Submit all employee benefit changes to insurance carriers.

  • Process employee Family Medical Leave Act requests.

  • Process, file, and follow up all worker compensation claims and coordinate safety committee.

  • Prepare and file any legal and/or district reports ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.

  • Organize and maintain all human resource information on the website.

  • May be assigned other duties in addition to those listed in job description.   Duties may change according to the changing needs of the district.
