July Member Meeting: New World of Compensation: Pay and Total Rewards Impacts in the Recovery

July 13, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am CDT

Title:  New World of Compensation: Pay and Total Rewards Impacts in the Recovery – Member’s Link to handouts and Zoom recording

Speaker:  Matt Shefchik

Summary Blurb:  We are seeing more forces impacting pay than we have seen in the last 10 years.  What used to be an easy exercise of pay budgeting and pay setting has become clouded and the pace of pay gains is in hyperdrive.  Join Matt Shefchik, Director of Total Rewards at Carlson Dettmann/Cottingham & Butler to learn about compensation in the recovery, and impacts to other total rewards.

Learning Objectives:

o   Gain insights on why compensation philosophy and principles will always be the foundation of rewards strategy, and be comfortable in changes to your compensation practices.

o   Understand the impacts of the $15 minimum wage debate, foundation wages, supply & demand for talent, and UI benefits have on hyper-accelerating wage growth.

o   Learn the importance of pay equity in light of female-dominated job losses and criticality in the recovery.

o   Determine your remote work pay philosophy
