Our “Legal Update: 2021” is a two-part program. The first segment addresses pending and recently decided employment law cases in Iowa. It highlights best practices and employer’s legal duties considering the new caselaw. The second segment covers employment matters specific to the Covid-19 pandemic. It addresses state and federal laws and regulations specific to the Covid-19 pandemic with an in-depth analysis of key definitions and real-world considerations.
Learning Objectives:
Participants should gain an increased awareness and understanding of:
(1) Updates on federal discrimination statutes, including Title VII and the Americans with Disabilities Act and steps they can take to avoid liability under such statutes;
(2) Updates on applicable Iowa discrimination statute, including the Iowa Civil Rights Act and steps they can take to avoid liability under such statutes;
(3) Updates on federal and state laws and regulations addressing employment matters in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
